Welcome to the
Friends of St Laurence!

From here you can find out about who we are and what's happening. If you'd like to join us just come along to our next meeting or contact us via the school office.

Friends of St Laurence is run by parents of children in the school and some of the staff. It helps provide all those little extras that add something special to the children's lives in school.
All parents automatically become members of FoStL when their child joins the school. The social and fund raising events organised by the Friends’ Committee continue to provide money for much needed facilities and resources for the children. Most activities are designed to be ‘family events’ but there are some that are aimed specifically at a solely parent audience

What do we do?

Friends events take place throughout the year and have included:

  • Bingo Evenings
  • Discos
  • Pyjama Parties
  • Quiz Nights
  • The Summer Fete
  • Secret Presents
  • Coffee Mornings

Through such events, we have raised funds that have enabled the school to provide extra, valuable resources for the children to use. To find out what's happening in the next few months just click here.

How can you help?

The success of the Friends depends entirely on the support of all parents, staff and the community. We greatly appreciate all the assistance parents and friends give us. This can be anything from a little time spent helping out in the background, to coming along to the functions with friends and family or by joining the "Friends" committee.

Donations play a very big role in our fundraising efforts. Prize donations for raffles and competitions, as well as time spent baking cakes, wrapping presents or helping out on a stall – these are all important. Maybe you work for a company who discards goods when they can’t be sold or could donate a prize for our end of year raffle?

Become a Class Rep

We're are looking for two parents from each class to represent that class on the committee.
It’s your chance to:

  • Talk about the needs of your children.
  • Contribute all your great fundraising ideas.
  • Raise money directly for your class if they need it perhaps for an outing or a visitor to come in and talk to the children.
  • Attend the occasional F.O.St.L. meeting.

Whatever you can do it’s all greatly appreciated by the FoStL committee and most of all it's appreciated by all of the children.
